Stop spending; there will be a cash-flow lag before spending cuts will help to reduce the current obligations. However, it has to be now or never!

Increasing tax revenues will slow this already sluggish economy.

Minnick Flub With Friend Hoyer:Part Of The Liberal Crowd (Video)

leave a comment »

By Bill Hurst, Minnick, posing as a conservative, has strong ties to Congressman Steny Hoyer. Minnick meets Hoyer in the foyer for funds:

Hoyer has contributed substantially to Minnick’s campaigns through AmeriPAC: -The Fund for a Greater America- Affiliate: Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md). Pelosi (and Steny Hoyer (D-MD)) published an op-ed in USA Today, labeling institutionalized health care protesters as “UN-American.” This is just more of the Democrats favorite strategy of triangulation.  Steny Hoyer is a Liberal-Progressive who has voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time! That tells you a lot about Steny Hoyer!

From Jason Manttera:

In a sense, you have to feel a little sorry for Hoyer, who appears to have bought Jason’s momentary nice-guy approach. That sympathy rapidly disappears when it’s obvious that Hoyer really has no good answer for allowing alleged tax cheat Charlie Rangel to write these new tax laws that will force Americans to pay fines if the IRS doesn’t approve of their health-insurance coverage, with tax cheat Tim Geithner ultimately in charge of those efforts. If Hoyer and the Democratic leadership can’t feel shame over that sorry record, the least they can feel is embarrassment.

In a speech to the progressive think tank, The Third Way, House Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer (D-MD) told the audience that increases in taxes to the middle class may be coming. With the Bush tax cuts ending in January, there had been talk of extending the cuts to the middle class. But with out of control spending programs, massive debts and declining revenues, Hoyer says that taxes will likely rise. Currently, the Bush tax cut saves the average middle class household about $2,000 a year.

Hoyer said:

As the House and Senate debate what to do with the expiring Bush tax cuts in the coming weeks, we need to have a serious discussion about whether we can afford to permanently extend them before we have a real plan for long-term deficit reduction.

Hoyer proposes a mix of spending cuts and tax increases to lower budget deficits. He favors cuts in defense and increasing the retirement age for Social Security. However he does state that we need a:

More progressive Social Security and Medicare benefits and a stronger safety net for Americans who need it most.

Hoyer takes the liberal line, we will increase taxes and we will cut spending, that’s fine but, they inevitably forget the spending cuts. It feels like another round of tax and spend.  It will be more of the same failed stimulus bills, more Keynesian economics [Keynesian Economics Defined (video)], with the redistribute wealth with the “Three-Card Monte.” Yes, it will be easy to save Social Security if you raise the retirement age to 90! With ongoing threats form the middle-east and North Korea, the question is now the time to weaken our national defense?

Minnick flub plays into Simpson’s talk of ‘Speaker Hoyer’

Idaho Democratic Rep. Walt Minnick tripped up and called House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer “Mr. Speaker” while Hoyer was in Boise Monday campaigning for Minnick in his race against GOP nominee Raul Labrador.

Idaho Republican Rep. Mike Simpson has advised Minnick that if Democrats retain the House, he could be part of a small cabal to force out Speaker Nancy Pelosi and replace her with Hoyer.
