By The Numbers: Who's Conservative Who's Not

Will The Real Walt Minnick Stand Up! (video)

By Bill Hurst, Voters In Idaho’s 1st Congressional District are Asking: Who and What is Walt Minnick?

Minnick, while posing as a conservative, with his campaign staff have set about to misrepresent his ideology to those he is supposed to represent. His “merry” band of liberals from Idaho and the DNC portray him as a “conservative maverick” in the Democrat Party.  This is simply absurd given that Minnick scored a dismal 44% from the  American Conservative Union, despite his much touted opposition to Obama’s big agenda items.  Any congressman from Idaho should score nothing less than 90% to 100% conservative.

Minnick is ultra-liberal when voting on social issues. Minnick voted to keep government-funded abortion provision in ObamaCare, received $5,000 in lobbying funds from Planned Parenthood in 2008 and Representative Minnick supported the interests of NARAL Pro-Choice America 100 percent in 2009 Video Minnick & Abortion.  Minnick has voted for legislation that has added billions of dollars to the national debt and more government regulations.

Minnick Posing As A Conservative:Votes For The Liberals

If you have conservative values; how can you trust Walt Minnick? If you stand for the truth; how can you trust Minnick? Minnick has not done or said anything that can be classified as creditable or believable in his campaign.  Even the Idaho Democrats can’t figure him out! This would give him a trust factor of zero with the voters of  Idaho’s 1st Congressional District. Among the various human factors are relied upon making a decision in an uncertain environment, risk and trust are surely crucial ones. In summing these together; are you willing to risk your vote and future on someone whose trust factor is in a questionable state?

Politicalgame:

The Walt Minnick You Don’t Know

In the glossy version, Walt worked in the Nixon White House on drug policy and he did—with a budget that, under his watch, ballooned to over 13 times what it was when he began. But even though he requested and received a letter from the Watergate Special Prosecutor confirming he was never a target of the investigation, multiple sources place Minnick, at least temporarily, in the Special Investigations Unit. Known as the “Plumbers,” this brainchild of Nixon was tasked with preventing leaks of classified information and carrying out covert operations against his political enemies. Led by Minnick’s boss, Egil Krogh, who would eventually plead guilty and spend time in prison, the Plumbers were the nucleus of illegal activity that would ultimately lead to the downfall of the administration.
In the postcard version, Walt “resigned in protest” after the Saturday Night Massacre (when Nixon fired Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox). It’s not clear when Minnick actually decided to resign, let alone whether he “resigned in protest,” but if he was protesting, it wasn’t very loudly. He stuck around for at least three months after that October Saturday of 1973. The truth doesn’t fit as nicely on an airbrushed postcard but to understand Walt Minnick’s grainy past you have to start at the beginning.

Club for Truth accused Minnick of being soft on illegal immigration, his spokesman responded:

“Walt’s position on immigration has been consistent from the beginning, and it’s that we need to secure the borders, send troops to the borders if necessary. Everyone who’s failed a background check needs to be deported immediately, the remainder needs to pay a fine and move to the back of the line for legal immigration”

This position mirrors President Obama’s current stance that if you are here illegally, you don’t need to be deported as long as you pass a background check and pay a fine. After doing this, you will receive one form of amnesty or another. This is the progressive stance on illegal immigration.

Minnick has compared the border fence being built along the Southern Border to the Berlin Wall. He also called for a path to normalization for illegal immigrants which is basically amnesty.

From: The Mountain Goat Reporter, The Walt Minnick You Don’t Know:

Like anyone would, there are things in Walt Minnick’s past that he frequently highlights, things he would rather forget and things he just doesn’t talk about. Depending on the audience, those things vary. However, some of those things he highlights have been distorted or are downright false and most of what you think you know about Walt Minnick, you don’t. Somewhere beneath Walt’s glossy, airbrushed, postcard version of the past is the grainy, less glamorous, washed-out truth.

In the airbrushed version, Walt spent two years in the Army and even, as his campaign Facebook page reads, “serving his country in Vietnam.” This assertion is repeated in other biographies, including the executive search site “Boardroom Insiders” and The Committee for a Liveable Future (LivPAC), the political action committee founded by Congressman Earl Blumenaur (D-OR). Actually a young Walter Minnick was desperately looking for a way to avoid the draft, and did so successfully. While scores of men his age, most with less means, spent their tours of duty in the jungles of Southeast Asia, Walt spent his time as an analyst in the Pentagon, with at least the last six months of his two-year obligation spent in the White House.

  1. […] In past articles I have demonstrated flaws in Minick’s version of his real past and his voting history during his tenure in Congress. He has conveniently manipulated the truth about both of these seemingly controversial subjects in his authentic life history and his first term in Congress, representing Idaho’s 1st Congressional District. This article attempts to reveal a few of his “airbrushed” versions of himself and the more exact account, which is not widely known by both political parties and chiefly by the constituency that he represents.
